Internet Dreams and Threats for Kids under 13

Kids are mesmerized with the world of the Internet. It opens up a sea of information to them when logged into these websites, helping their tender minds learn about the world from the comfort of home. It is a tempting place where they can get access to many interesting things without anyone infringing on their freedom.

Internet – the world of dreams

First, the internet can be accessed from anywhere in the world. It is a sea of information from where you can learn things about different places and beings of the world. Therefore when a kid under 13 is sitting in front of the Internet he or she is hooked on to the information deluge that pours out from the Internet. Kids under 13 are of inquisitive minds and they are always ready to learn new things. When they are exposed to the Internet they are easily drawn by the visual and written information.

How the Internet can pose as a threat to the kids under 13?

The Internet can be a real threat to kids under 13. They are vulnerable to online bullies and deceits and they can be easily trapped. The pornography sites and other temptations can prove to be real visual threats. Parents should keep them under strict supervision and restrict all the undesirable sites.

Besides, kids are also exposed to the harsh world and they learn about the bad things first. This can cause mental damage that can have a lasting effect on their lives. Hence, parents should be careful about their children accessing the Internet.

You will agree that the Internet is a learning medium, but obscenity and other harmful stuff should be kept away from children’s tender minds. The Internet can enhance their knowledge and enrich their minds if handled in the right way.
