10 Cool Free Online Games for Kids

There are a ton of cool free online games for kids out there…

but choosing the right one is vital to your child’s safety and enjoyment.

If you type the phrase, “Cool Free Online Games for Kids” into a search engine you will get thousands of results.

For every good result, there are at least three bad results that could lead to a phishing website or worse a website full of perverse images and messages that no parent wants to have to explain to their child or worse have their child get addicted to without their knowledge.

The most important thing to remember when looking for web-based games for kids is to do your research. Set your computer’s security functions to only allow specific websites to be accessed by your child, only after you have approved it by surfing the site yourself.

Here is a list of safe, cool, free online games for kids.

www.kidsgames4free.com– This website has a variety of games ranging from adventure based character games to arcade style games. On this website, kids will not be limited to one specific type of game.

www.kids.yahoo.com/games – The advantage to a yahoo-based game website for kids is the fact that it can ensure high levels of security. You know that your child will not be entering a site that they should not be going.

www.thekidzpage.com/freekidsgames – This website a ton of cool free online games for kids mostly based around sports games. If your kids like archery, bowling, canoeing, or other sports games, then this site is for them.

www.alfy.com -This website is based mostly for younger kids, and some levels of it require that you apply for a membership or upgrade, but this is not required to access the basic website and games. This site contains puzzles, word searches, coloring pages, and academic games as well.

www.pbskids.org/games – PBS has been known for its kid-friendly content since its inception. This website is full of mostly school-readiness material, but when coupled with a gaming format, your child will find it interesting. The best part about this website is that it includes your child’s favorite cartoon shows like “Thomas the Train” in the gaming content.

www.playkidsgames.com– This website has kids games that are both fun and educational. They have games for children ages’ pre-K through middle school and helps them learn while playing games.

www.nick.com/games – This website sponsored by Nickelodeon is a great place for kids to find games that relate to their favorite Nickelodeon television shows. They have safe, fun games that children of all ages will enjoy.

www.primarygames.com – This unique website was created by kids for kids, and allows your child the opportunity to build their own virtual world.

www.safe-game.com – If safety is a must, then this site is for you. All games are screened and content is monitored closely. Additionally, there are a number of different types of games that suit children of all ages and interests.

www.nickjr.com – This is the site for cool, free online games for kids of a preschool age.
