This is a question that most bloggers would ask. And when you look for answer the most common answer you get is “as often as you can.”

That’s true as it will keep your blog active and interesting. Just like a newspaper which has a new content every day a blog also requires new content regularly to carry on.

Few things to consider about the frequency of publishing blog posts

Write posts at regular interval: If you post many posts on one day and then have a long gap, it’s not good for the blog. Instead, the better option would be to write one or two posts on one day and then you can add another post the next day. The main motto is to be consistent.

How often to write blog posts
Content is king in blogging: You are updating your blog regularly, but the content is not interesting or much related to the topic of the blog. This can make the reader lose interest in the blog and hence stop visiting it. The post quality matters a lot even if you write fewer, but good posts. It will maintain your traffic instead of going for large number of irrelevant posts.

Length of the post is an important aspect: Readers don’t like very lengthy posts. Instead go for short and informative posts.

Why is good frequency required in writing blog posts?

A very simple answer to this is that it will make readers come back to your blog regularly. They will wait for new topics every time. If you write just once a month, the reader will get distracted and might not return to your blog regularly. We can explain this by a simple example: a blogger writes only one post per month so visitors will visit only once a month to see the post. Whereas a blogger writes 10 posts a month at regular interval and will get at least 10 hits by one visitor. This shows that writing more posts at a regular interval can increase blog traffic.

Along with this if the frequency of posting new content is good, it improves the page rank of that blog in search engines. The reason behind this is that with every new post, new keywords are added and hence people searching for various topics will visit your site. Basically the more posts means more indexed pages that in turn will give a larger number of search engine visitors thereby increasing the page views.
