Writing blog posts takes special effort!

Get ahead by knowing the rules for writing blog posts.

In general to learn how to write is a very important skill for all students. These days blogging in school will get students to write in a way they may find more handy and enjoyable than writing on paper. There should be clear rules for students writing blog posts and proper rules to use when creating your article.

Students should also know that it is very important for them to respond in a constructive manner to their peer’s work.

Most important are language rules for kids to use when blogging. It should be similar to the rules you have in your classroom when you write a story. If they are writing creatively, and conversational language enhances their story, then they should be allowed to use it.

Here are 6 rules to follow when writing blog posts:

-Always use descriptive headlines that reveal the point of the article without further reading. Always make your opinion known to the reader.

-Use images, sub-headlines, lists, examples, indented quotes, tables, icons, indented notes, colors, italics and bold to cheer up the content and make it easier to share with others.

-Do not make your content very long, as it can bore the reader. If the subject is long break it in different sections. It is easier for a reader to go through each section and only read the section of interest, thereby saving time.

-Write with a specific friend or family member in mind. Thinking of someone you know well and who might want to read your thoughts will help relax you.

-When deciding a topic, if you’re using lot of technical words it is always best to give reference to the words. It will make the reader understand a topic that may unknown to them.

-Spell-check and read your work for clearness once or twice before posting.
